The END Fund provided support through IOCC to the existing morbidity management program of lymphoedema associated with lymphatic filariasis and podoconiosis in endemic areas of Amhara, Ethiopia.

ethiopia-region-blog-mapLymphatic Filariasis is a mosquito born illness that can cause swelling from fluid build up induced by improper function of the lymphatic system. Secondary infections can occur when germs enter the body through lesions. The soap and health information leaflets will help people utilize proper hygiene practices to prevent these secondary infections.

Morbidity management is an essential element to achieving NTD control and elimination goals.
