Before joining the End Fund, Martin was the Country Lead with Crown Agents. In the position, he worked closely with the MOH in Kenya (Division of Vector Borne and Neglected Tropical Diseases) to support the delivery of CIFF funded ARISE Project. As a result, we managed to reach over 2 million people with schistosomiasis treatment annually and support the MOH to continuously innovate for effective and efficient service delivery of various NTDs interventions.
Previously, Martin worked as the Regional Monitoring Evaluation Research and Learning Manager (FCDO-funded ASCEND project) with Abt Associates. In that position, he worked closely with the MOH and implementing partners in eight African countries to provide end-to-end technical support to MOH to strengthen their MEL systems and utilize data for decision-making in NTD program delivery.
Martin received his post-graduate degree in Global Health from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, his Masters’s in Public (Epidemiology and Population Health) from Maseno University, Kisumu, Kenya and his Bachelor’s in Public Health from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda.
Besides work, Martin is an avid reader and enjoys philosophical debates and how they relate to contemporary topical issues and hanging out with friends and family.
