Prior to joining the END Fund, Dr. Haile attended medical school in Addis Ababa University School of medicine. After graduation, she went to Rural attachment and started working in a primary hospital as a general practitioner. In short time she was appointed as the Quality Committee head as well as head of the Inpatient Department. She was fortunate enough to have participated in the kalazar (visceral leishmaniasis) care and treatment program. In association with Kalakore, we were able to have the kalazar center up and running in our hospital. After that Dr. Haile joined Doctors without borders Holland, where she worked as a medical doctor in the kalazar and snake bite research and treatment center. We managed Kalazar patients and participated in research focusing on efficacy of kalazar treatment. Shortly after we also expanded our project to emergency response in northern Ethiopia.
Dr. Haile also holds a mental health diploma as well as SGBV certificate. Afterwards, she had the opportunity to join the Coordination Office for MSF Holland as a medical coordinator support as the staff health and clinical management focal person.
My hobbies include reading books and discovering new places to visit.
